Melissa strives to address all the body systems as an integrated whole, while honoring the unique rhythm and history of each client. Her massage addresses both musculoskeletal imbalances and energetic blockages; resulting in therapeutic, well-rounded bodywork, providing pain relief, relaxation, rejuvenation, and healing.
In 2000, Melissa began her studies from a Western massage perspective. Realizing this approach was only the tip of the iceberg, she began to learn more about the Eastern intricacies that shape her practice. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Alternative Medicine and is currently enrolled in acupuncture school.
A lifelong background in dance and movement, combined with a personal yoga and meditation practice, influences Melissa’s approach to bodywork. She has worked in a variety of settings within the United States and abroad. Her signature treatment combines deep tissue and Shiatsu (acupressure) while seamlessly integrating additional modalities.
